Twin Realities
Life of a simpleton is often mocked by
the society. Society forever inspires us to chase big, dream big, achieve big.
More than inspire I would like to use the word ‘brainwash’
I have been brainwashed. All my life
at every single moment I simply wanted to be happy and I have miserably failed
at just that. What is the definition of big and what is the right thing to
achieve? Money? Power? Fame? Solace? Peace? Happiness?
Weren’t the first three mentioned in
the 7 greatest sins? But being the human I am, I too am haunted by the desire
to acquire one of these or may be all.
Sometimes I just wish to give up. Give
up all the dreams, as I wonder are these really my dreams?
Freedom is not meant for everyone. It is
an overwhelming sense of actualization and not everyone is capable of handling
its true form. But then does that make them the weak? Or just merely the
other kind?
Why is that people who wish to live a routine
life and find happiness in ignorance are looked down upon?
Isn’t it just that they chose simple
happiness over the complexities of human brain. An overly developed brain is
incapable of experiencing simple happiness. It is so use to being developed and
complex… it tries to dissect everything. It assumes it is simplifying the
mysteries of universe but is actually making things more complex.
A normal person, who wakes up in the
morning , goes to work, comes home, eats, sleeps and wakes up to do the same
thing all over again; might not be as normal as he seems. Have you ever thought
so?
A bird in cage might appear sad to you
but might be just as happy and content. Have
you ever imagined so?
Imagine if the whole world was filled
with complex minds each a scientist, artist or philosopher; each trying to realize
the truth of universe. Who would then enjoy the bearings of earth?
There is a pretty good reason why nature
consists of free flying birds and worms at the same time.
Materialistic and non materialistic
are just two sides of the coin. And I don’t suppose a coin has right and wrong
sides, now does it?
Everywhere I see, dominantly the internet is flooded with messages asking
people to liberate themselves and be more adventurous. Living a same routine, day in and day out is an adventure too. If you are not that kind of a person,
it will put you through hell lot of adrenaline stress. For a free mind it’s like pulling it out of its comfort zone. And all my liberated, intellectual friends would definitely
shiver by the mere thought of it.
Similarly a person who finds solace in
regularity shivers by the idea of a nomadic life.
These are merely two different kinds
of comfort zones, and the truth remains; ‘we all hate to be pulled out of our
comfort zones’.
So stop messing with each other’s
minds, stop telling right from wrong cause there is none. Let people decide who
they want to be. Cant the mediocre be the mediocre (again who gave us the right
to call them mediocre) and the explorers remain the explorers (god knows what
is it that they just never find) and both remain in their own spheres not to disturb
the other?
A few decades ago or rather centuries
ago, routine was the right and adventure was wrong, so the few daredevils who
strayed and never achieved anything died miserably and those who did find
something, achieved greatness, became heroes.
Today everyone is trying to be
different, do something different. Like the fierce felines, everyone is fighting
to leave their scent behind, but there are just so many of them and such less
of periphery that the scents inevitably collide. Hence arises the problem of
mixed identities, lost identities and copyright issues (don’t ask me how I arrived
at that).
The intolerance of side A in the
history I think has led to the intolerance of side B today. It’s a meaningless cycle
that will keep on repeating.
Just want to remind everyone;
Not everyone can be a lion
Not everyone should be an entrepreneur
Not everyone wants to explore the
whole damn world
Someone has to, or rather willingly wants
to stay home. These are merely two different kinds of realities and how we
accept it defines the constantly shifting trends in mindsets.
